14 St Catherine's Place, Kirkwall

14 St Catherine's Place in Kirkwall dates from around 1805 and has undergone later alterations. It is a single-storey and attic structure that consists of a pair of three-bay houses forming a small terrace, with a crow-stepped gable on the northern side (Number 12) and adjacent to Number 15 St Catherine's Place, which is listed separately. The exterior is harled.

The western (principal) elevation features Number 13 to the north, which has a deep-set part-glazed modern door in the central bay, with a window in each of the flanking bays and a small attic window positioned wide to the outer right. Number 14 to the south has a deep-set modern timber door in the central bay, a window in the left bay, and an enlarged window in the right bay.

On the northern side elevation (Number 13), there are two bays. It has a window on each floor in the right bay, an attic window in the left bay, and a gablehead stack above. Number 13 features 2-pane timber-framed windows with top-hung upper lights, a central rooflight, while Number 14 has 12-pane timber sash and case windows. The roofing materials include modern grey slate for Number 13 and concrete tiles for Number 14, with stone ridges and central skews. The gablehead and ridge stacks are corniced, and uPVC rainwater goods are present.

The interiors have not been seen since 1998.
