Description
Stromness, 12 and 14 Graham Place is an early 19th century, two-storey, two-bay house with an asymmetrical crow-stepped gable. It is divided internally and is located close to the rear of Nos 8-10, which are listed separately, and adjoins No 16 to the east. The exterior is constructed of pointed rubble with concrete cills.
On the west (principal) elevation, there is a part-glazed timber panelled door at the centre of the ground floor, with a window offset to the left on the first floor above. A window is located in the bay to the right on the ground floor.
The south (side) elevation features a two-bay gabled design. There is a deep-set part-glazed timber panelled door to the left on the ground floor, with a window to the right on each floor and a gablehead stack above.
The north (side) elevation presents a single bay gabled design, with a window to the left on the ground floor and a gablehead stack above.
The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, some of which have modern glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate and features a stone ridge, with corniced rubble stacks on the north and south sides, and uPVC rainwater goods.
The interior was not seen in 1997.
