Description
Parkhill House is a symmetrical building from the late 18th century, featuring two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay central block flanked by mid-19th century two-storey single bay wings. The exterior is harled, with polished ashlar margins. The central advanced bay has a pediment and angle margins, along with a corniced doorpiece supported by two pairs of Roman Doric columns. The first floor has a tripartite window with a blind central light and a cornice below the attic window. Above, there is a central attic window beneath the pediment and a corniced octagonal apex stack. Throughout the building, sash windows are set in architraves, with additional features including angle margins, an eaves course, a cornice, and a blocking course. The roof is slate, with two 20th century splayed dormers and end stacks. The flanking wings have canted floor four-light bays with parapets and first floor windows featuring pedimented gables, along with angle margins and an eaves course. A rounded stair turret and extensive additions can be found at the rear.
