Description
17 High Street in Fochabers is a pair of single-storey and attic cottages built between 1870 and 1880. They feature a long elevation facing High Street and are constructed from mixed rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. The entrance to No 17 High Street is located at the rear, while the entrance to No 7 East Street is obscured by a substantial modern flat-roofed sun porch. Each cottage has two bracketed corniced windows on the High Street front and in the east gable of No 17. There are also two gabled attic windows and a single first-floor window in each gable, all positioned above a continuous cill and eaves band. The windows have lying-pane glazing. The cottages have a coped ridge stack and a slate roof with projecting eaves.
