Description
The Church of Scotland in Portknockie was built between 1860 and 1861 and remodelled in 1899 by architect Duncan MacMillan. It is a plain rectangular church with its gable end facing the street and long elevations to the east and west. The exterior is harled with tooled ashlar or concrete margins and dressings. The east elevation features four bays and has an off-centre round-headed entrance on Hill Street, along with plain square-headed windows. The south gable includes three small cusped lights and a wheel window above them. At the apex, there is a bellcote, and the roof is covered with slate.
Inside, the church has a simple galleried interior that dates from the 1899 remodel.
