Description
The Gig House and Stable at The Moorings on High Street in Garmouth dates from around 1850. It is a two-storey, three-bay house featuring some plain Tudor details. The exterior is harled with tooled ashlar margins. The central entrance door is flanked by tripartite windows in the outer ground floor bays. The first-floor windows break the wallhead and are set in finialled and gabled dormers, with lying-pane glazing. The house has end stacks and a slate roof.
At the rear, there is a single-storey gighouse and stable constructed with clay and bool walling, also topped with a slate roof, some of which is made from local slates.
Inside, the property includes a simple imperial staircase.
