Southern Range, Secondary Bothy, Woolmill, Knockando

The Northern Range, Principal Bothy at Woolmill in Knockando is a building from the late 19th century. It features a principal byre with a later adjoining byre/store at the northwest gable, creating a long, simple rectangular layout with various lean-to additions. The earlier byre has a random rubble pedestal, while both structures are timber framed with timber cladding and have pitched corrugated-iron roofs.

On the southeast elevation of the earlier byre, there are two doors and two windows, with a central door on the northeast side. The byre/store has a larger window to the right and a central cart door on its southeast elevation. Each outer gable has a hayloft door, and there is a lean-to addition on the northwest side. A full-length continuous lean-to on the northeast side of the byre/store houses a sawmill. The doors are timber boarded, and the lower sections of the windows have slatted ventilation panels with glazed upper panels. Inside, there are remnants of animal stalls, mangers, troughs, and concrete floor slabs with drainage channels.
