Description
Laundry Bridge at Dalkeith House is an 18th century vehicle bridge oriented on a north-south axis. It features a double span with segmental arches constructed from red sandstone rubble. The bridge has ashlar piers, voussoirs, and slab coping. The abutments are advanced to the west and east, and there are canted refuges over the cutwaters on both sides. Corbels are present at the springing of the arches to the west, and the bridge includes Gibbsian keystones and a band course on the piers.
