133 High Street, Dalkeith

131 High Street in Dalkeith is a mid-19th century tenement building that stands three stories tall with an attic and features three bays. The exterior is finely droved ashlar, with the ground floor harled and the remaining elevations also harled. It has an eaves cornice and raised cills.

On the east elevation facing High Street, there is a six-bay late 19th century commercial facade at ground level, featuring a door in the second bay from the left and regular window arrangements in the other bays. The outer bays on the first and second floors have tripartite windows, with additional windows in the center. A band course above the current shop fascia retains iron fixtures from an earlier shop sign.

The west elevation has irregularly arranged windows. The south elevation includes two blocked window openings in the gable head. The north elevation is adjoined to Nos 135 and 137 High Street.

The building features a variety of small-pane and plate glass glazing patterns in its sash and case windows, with flush horizontal paned windows at the ground floor on the east elevation. It has coped skews, harled gablehead stacks, and two piended and canted slate-hung dormer windows on the east pitch. There are rooflights and a shallow swept dormer window on the west side, all covered with grey slates.
