Description
Langhouse Residential Home is a mansion that stands two to three storeys tall, designed in the Victorian Baronial style, featuring towerlets and battlements. It mainly dates from around 1848, although it incorporates an early farmhouse as part of its structure. There is a two-storey addition to the south that is faced in imitation stone. The original core of the building is not easily identifiable, but there is a date of 1705 inscribed on a wall above the gate of the walled garden, which may refer to an old mill house. Additionally, an American has traced their ancestor back to the 1720s at this site.
