Description

The Ice House at Scrabster is an earlier 19th century icehouse complex, which includes a lean-to net house that has been altered. The icehouse itself is constructed from rubble and features a gabled front with a later inserted window. It is set back into the slope at the rear and has an ice chute. Inside, there is a barrel vaulted ceiling, and the roof is covered with slate.

Adjacent to the icehouse is a cottage that is set back against the wall. This single-storey, three-bay cottage is also built from rubble and has been lime-washed. It has a gabled slate roof and a chimney stack at one end.
