Description
The building is an early 19th century rubble stable block, located at Corry Lodge in Broadford, Skye. It has a north-facing main facade and is two storeys high with five symmetrical bays, which are divided by half-round rubble giant pilasters. The centre bay is gabled, while the outer bays are narrower. There are three segmental-headed carriage or boat houses in the centre, with single round-headed doorways in the outer bays. The first floor features rounded-headed windows, which are longer in the central gable and flanked by small blind square windows in the three centre bays. The east gable has a similar window treatment. The building has six and nine-pane sashes and a piended slate roof. Some modern harling has been applied to infilled windows and the centre bay. At the rear, there is a large courtyard that contains the remains of a fishing packing and curing station, which was later used as a farm steading.
