Description
Corry Lodge in Broadford, Skye, dates from the late 18th to early 19th century and has undergone later additions and alterations, including repairs by John Mackenzie of Portree in 1891. The building is two storeys with an attic and features three wide bays. The central door is flanked by pointed-headed lights and a canted bay window, which is linked by a canopy supported by a pair of slender wooden pillars. The outer first-floor windows are tripartite, and there is a semi-circular stair turret at the rear topped with a conical roof; the stair window has been altered to a door that connects to the garden via a footbridge over the rear court.
The lodge has two piended dormers from around 1900, end stacks, and a slate roof. There are single-storey and attic flanking pavilions connected to the main house by narrow two-storey bays added later. Both pavilions have long gable end stacks facing the main (east) frontage. The southern pavilion features a single dormer on the east and west gables, as well as three on the south elevation, all from around 1900, piended and raised through the wallhead. The north pavilion retains its original kitchen, which has a large hearth divided into three sections, and both pavilions have piended slate roofs.
