Description
The Hand Crane at Isleornsay Harbour Pier, dating from around 1800, is a drystone rubble pier connected to a sea-wall of similar but simpler construction, creating a quayed edge to a small bay. The pier's surface is now covered in cobbles set in cement mortar. At the end of the pier, there is a cast and wrought-iron hand crane with a wooden jib mounted on a post and plinth. Additionally, there is a well on the quay featuring a circular rubble cope. At the northern end of the quay, there is a small doocot with a square pyramid roof, made of lime-washed rubble walls and topped with a slate roof.
