Description
This is a late 19th-century suspension footbridge designed by Sir John Fowler, the engineer renowned for his work on the Forth Railway Bridge. Built to span the Measach Falls within the Corrieshalloch Gorge, it is one of three "very handsome light bridges" constructed over the River Broom. The bridge features a simple iron zig-zag balustrade and a wooden deck, with an 84-foot span. A memorial tablet commemorating Fowler's work is located in Lochbroom Parish Church. Further details about his involvement are documented in works by Thomas Mackay and Macdonald.
