Description
Rosskeen Free Church is a later 19th-century building designed in the style of A. Maitland, showcasing Gothic architecture. It is constructed from stugged, sneck coursed rubble with contrasting tooled ashlar dressings. The church features an imposing gabled south front that includes a shallow gabled centre porch. This porch has a recessed pointed and moulded entrance, with a large window above it that displays geometric tracery.
Flanking the porch are lancet windows and angle pilasters that terminate in pinnacles. To the east, there is a projecting canted gallery stair bay, while to the west stands a five-stage octagonal tower topped with a spire. The tower features lancet windows in the lower three stages, and the upper two stages have louvred belfry openings that alternate with flat buttress pilasters, which also end in pinnacles. The spire is facetted and includes lucarnes, topped with a weathervane.
