Description
This is a small burial ground, partially enclosed by a low drystone wall. The site contains various tombstones, predominantly dating to the 19th century, although a single slab from around 1400 also survives. The burial ground is associated with a site of a church dating to around AD 680 on the shores of Loch Ness, dedicated to St. Adamnan or Eonan, Abbot of Iona. The "Life of St. Columba," written by Adamnan, contains the first recorded mention of the Loch Ness monster. Further details are documented in the Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
