Description

The Railway Viaduct over the River Findhorn in Tomatin was designed by John Fowler and Murdoch Paterson and completed in 1897. This structure features a 9-span steel lattice-girder bridge supported by tall, slender, tooled rubble piers. Two of these piers are located in the River Findhorn and have rounded cutwaters. At each end, there are masonry abutments with paired narrow round-headed arch rings. The viaduct is slightly curved and has an overall length of 445 yards (405 meters).
