Lairg Free Church Of Scotland Church, Ord Place, Lairg

This is an 1845 Free Church of Scotland church located on Ord Place in Lairg, with alterations made in the later 19th century. The church is a plain, rectangular rubble building, its long north and south elevations facing each other. The stone is dressed with tooled details. The east gable features a pointed-headed entrance in the center, flanked by single lancet windows. Above the entrance, a pointed-headed tripartite window is set below a bull's eye window at the gable apex. Four long, pointed-headed windows are present on both the north and south elevations. A gabletted bellcote sits at the apex of the east gable, while a finial marks the west gable. A central ridge fleche ventilator rises from the slate roof. A single-story minister's porch and room are connected to the east gable of the church and link it to a hall. Inside, the church has a galleried interior with fittings from the later 19th century.
