Description
This is a small, single-span hump-back bridge located in the Corrieyairack Pass, near Melgarve, built between 1731 and 1732 as part of General Wade’s military roads program. The bridge crosses the Coehan Riabhaich burn. It is constructed of roughly tooled rubble, featuring a partially collapsed arch ring on the north side. A low parapet remains on the south side. The span of the bridge is 16 feet and 16 inches. William Taylor’s book, The Military Roads in Scotland, provides additional details on pages 58 to 60.
