Description
Carbisdale Court, part of the Carbisdale Castle estate, is a 1907 service court building likely designed by John Robertson of Inverness. It is a two-story, square building constructed of bullfaced rubble with contrasting polished ashlar sandstone dressings. The west facade features a wide Tudor arched entrance, ornamented with moulded reveals and a hoodmould, flanked by canted bay windows projecting above crenellated detailing. Bipartite windows with two panes of glazing are found on the ground floor and in the center of the first floor above the arch. Decorative cast- and wrought-iron gates enclose the entrance. Original down-water pipes with rainheads, featuring winged figures, are present, mirroring details at the main castle. The building has corniced end stacks and a slate roof. Modern garage entrances have been incorporated into the court.
