Description
Creich Church of Scotland Parish Church, located on Migdale Road in Bonar Bridge, was built by Alexander Maitland and Sons of Tain between 1911 and 1913. This rectangular Gothic church features a nave with aisles and transepts, as well as a tower. The structure is made of squared granite rubble with tooled dressings in contrasting stone and has a slate roof. The southwest tower includes an entrance with a pointed arched opening, set-off angle buttresses, paired louvred belfry lights, a corbelled crenellated parapet, and a short lucarned spire. The aisles have three paired lancet windows, while the transepts feature taller versions. A large four-light window with cusp and mouchette tracery is located in the west gable, and there is a low session room to the east.
Inside, the church has cast-iron aisle arcades and a collar beam roof supported by decorated brackets. Original fittings include the pulpit. Stained glass is featured in a four-light window and a twelve-light window by Percy Bacon, created before 1930. Additionally, there is a window in the north aisle by Roland Milton of Glasgow.
