Description
Mains Of Gorthleck is a house from the earlier to mid-18th century, featuring two storeys and an attic with a symmetrical design. It has five bays, with paired windows in the outer bays, and is entirely harled. The centre door on the south front is obscured by small modern windows, and there are three late 19th century gabled dormers. The first-floor windows at the front and rear have 12-pane glazing, while the glazing varies in other locations. The house has flat skews, end stacks, and a slate roof.
There is a single-storey, two-bay gabled wing at the east gable, and a three-bay L-plan single-storey wing at the west, which includes a modern box dormer. Inside, there is some fielded panelling that is likely original to the house but has been re-used, located in a recess in the ground floor room. The staircase features late 19th century turned balusters.
