Description

Glebe Steading is a manse built around 1790, with an additional front block added in 1829, creating a double-gabled, two-storey, three-bay house. The exterior is harled with tooled ashlar margins. The entrance is located in the west gable of the later block, which is concealed by a square porch with a piended roof. There is another entrance in the center of the rear (north) elevation, which also has three bays. The main south front features three windows on both floors, with tripartite windows in the outer bays on the ground floor (the west window has blocked side lights). The windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern, and the house has end stacks and slate roofs.

The garden is enclosed by simple drystone walls with a rough coping, situated in front of the house.

The steading, built in 1829, is a single-storey, U-shaped structure with five bays, facing west. It is built into a sloping site, with the south gable being lower and served by two doors. The west elevation features projecting wings, with a segmental-headed gighouse entrance on the right (southwest) and a blind arched front facing the barn on the left (northwest). There are three entrances in the central bays, one of which has been enlarged. The steading has a wallhead stack and a piended slate roof, with the front yard enclosed by rubble walls.
