Description
Wick Old Parish Church, built between 1820 and 1830 by John Henry of Edinburgh, is a Gothic-style church characterized by its simple wide rectangular shape. The exterior is constructed from coursed dressed rubble with ashlar dressings. A single-stage tower is located at the south-east corner, featuring a facetted spire that is gabled at the base. The tower has two tiers of blind panels, string courses, and a stone waisted baluster finial. Corbelled pinnacles are present at the south-east angles and at the angles of the corbelled crenellation, although these are now truncated. The church has a slate roof and a spacious interior with galleries.
