Description
The Commercial Bank of Scotland, located at 480 Gallowgate in Glasgow, was designed by James McCallum, Master of Works for the bank, in 1936. This single-storey corner building features art deco ornamentation, with an entrance tower positioned at the corner angle, displaying the bank's crest above the door. A bucranium, referencing the nearby meat market and abattoir, is prominently placed high above the entrance, accompanied by fluted detailing and a clock.
