Church Hall, St James Pollock Church, 183 Meiklerig Crescent, Glasgow

St James Pollock Church, built between 1893 and 1895 by H E Clifford, was relocated to its current site in 1951 by Thomson, McCrea and Sanders. It features a Gothic architectural style, constructed from red ashlar with an unusual surface tooling that appears to have been re-cut. The church has a roughly cruciform plan and includes tall paired windows in a lofty west transept, which is buttressed and connected by a low shallow side aisle to a large porch at the south end of the nave. There is a gallery stair turret on the north wall of the transept, and the roofs are slated. The church is set behind a boundary wall with railings that connect intermediate piers, and there are large drum gate piers near the porch.

Inside, the church shares characteristics with Clifford's Cathcart Parish Church, including similar plans and street frontages. The interior features exposed stonework, aisle arcades, and a tall two-arched opening to the west transept. The area below the gallery is now screened off, and a rood screen has been re-used at the side chapel opposite. There is a shallow gallery at the south end with a distinctive panelled front and an open-timbered roof. The early 20th century hall, which has a traceried window in its west gable, is linked to the church.
