Description

John Smellie Sen. 1892-95. Long terrace of wide 3-bay, 2-storey houses. Ashlar with squared, snecked rubble side and rear elevations. Plinth, band course between storeys, cill course to 1st. Central wide entrances with wide 2-leaf doors, inner doors mostly with etched glass (No 28 with stained glass) panels.

Tripartites to left, canted balustraded window to right at ground, pattern mirrored around centre. 2 tripartites at centre with central bipartite; plate glass sashes. Deep, bracketted eaves. Slate roof; end, ridge, roof slope and wallhead covered stacks. Single storey rear gabled projections.

Low retaining front walls and stumpy battered gatepiers.
