Camphill House, Queen's Park, 799 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow

Camphill House, located at 799 Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow, is a Grade A listed classical country house designed by architect David Hamilton. Built around 1798 for Robert Thomson, a cotton manufacturer, the house is now part of the extended city boundary.

The building has a rectangular plan with two storeys over a basement. It features panelled giant clasping pilasters at the corners and five-bay elevations on the south front, arranged in a 1-3-1 pattern, except on the west side. The north front has a central Ionic porch. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, with the basement and some detailing on the north side painted.

The house has sash windows with slender astragals and margined glazing. A continuous entablature runs along the top, and there are end and axial stacks. The roof has a shallow pitch covered in slate, although the dormers are not original.
