28 Springhill Gardens, Pollokshaws, Glasgow

16 Springhill Gardens in Pollokshaws, Glasgow, is a large, U-shaped block of five-storey tenements built in 1904 by John Nisbet. The building features polished ashlar and red sandstone, with a front pleasure ground. The tenements vary in size and are designed in the Glasgow style, displaying minimal detailing, including segmental corniced windows on the first floor and regular full-height bays. The original sash and case windows have multi-pane upper sashes. The building has tall wallhead stacks, some of which have been reduced. Notably, there is a reduced wallhead stack at the northern return, which is corbelled at the first floor and features a sculptured panel with the lettering "Springhill Gardens." The roofs are covered with concrete tiles, and the axial stacks have been rebuilt in brick.
