600-614 Eglinton Street, Glasgow

This building, located at 600-614 Eglinton Street in Glasgow, is a four-storey tenement designed by Alexander Thomson around 1860. It is constructed of ashlar and features an eight-by-fourteen bay layout with shops on the ground floor. The ground floor has been altered, except for the section facing Gourock Street.

The first-floor windows are adorned with consoled cornices, while the second-floor windows are highlighted by a continuous band course and small raised discs above them, also corniced. The third floor features a continuous cill course, with windows separated at head level by pairs of dwarf pilasters topped with antefixae. An entablature with a parapet is present at the corner, and the angled corner bay is similarly detailed.

The elevation facing Gourock Street shares these design features, although it includes one blind bay. The ground floor retains five original simple bays with a close entry. Some of the windows in the building have been replaced with modern versions.
