Description
17-25 West Prince's Street in Glasgow is a group of terraced tenements built around 1850, designed by John Bryce and related to Queens Crescent. The buildings are four stories high with basements and feature an astylar design. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, with the ground floor channelled and partly painted.
The entrance includes steps that extend over the basement to the doors. The main door is framed by a pilastered doorpiece, while the close door is recessed and has pilastered reveals and fanlights. All upper windows are architraved and corniced at the first and second floors, featuring sash windows with plate-glass glazing. There are continuous band courses between the floors and a plain cornice at the top. The roofs are slate, supported by axial and wallhead stacks. Additionally, there are cast-iron railings around the basement and some steps, and the staircases are made of cantilevered stone with cast-iron balusters.
