Description
Lady Well is a holy well located on Ladywell Street in Glasgow. It was restored in 1836 and rebuilt in 1874 by the Merchants House of Glasgow. The well has been used since early times and is now incorporated within the boundary wall of the Necropolis. It is set in an alcoved niche with a deep frieze and a cross finialled pediment, constructed from ashlar. A plaque nearby notes that further restoration was carried out by Tennent Caledonian Breweries in 1983.
