Description
The Royal Marine Reserve Depot, located at 1-15 Maxwell Road in Glasgow, was built by Robert Miller between 1894 and 1896 as a YMCA building. It features a late Gothic architectural style, characterized by mullioned and transomed windows. The building is constructed from red ashlar and includes leaded glass panels, topped with slated roofs. It occupies a corner site and consists of a four-storey corner range with an entrance set in a canted angle. Adjoining this are two-storey ranges on each street elevation, which have tall outer gables. The broad-eaved roof slopes down centrally over four large windows, with a shop located to the right on Maxwell Road.
