Mount Florida Clinic, 183 Prospecthill Road, Glasgow

Mount Florida Clinic, located at 183 Prospecthill Road in Glasgow, was designed by Crawford & Veitch in 1907 as the Cathcart Parish Council Offices. This building showcases Edwardian Baroque architecture and is constructed from red ashlar with sculptured details. The front is symmetrical and long, featuring a variety of wall planes. A leaded dome is raised above the central entrance bay, which includes a round-headed door accessed by central steps and an open-based pediment supported by paired columns. Most windows are set within key-stoned architraves. The outer pavilions, which are shallow and advanced, have channelled pilaster strips flanking the inner windows. The main roof is concealed by a parapet, and there is a low retaining wall with iron railings along the street, complemented by square piers at the ends.
