Description
This is a four-storey and basement corner building located at 55-57 Cochrane Street in Glasgow, dating from around 1820. It features five bays along Cochrane Street, with a canted angle and three bays on South Frederick Street. The building is constructed of painted ashlar. At the corner, there is a door set within a columned and pilastered doorpiece. The ground floor openings have undergone some alterations. Above, each bay is fitted with windows that are framed in architraves and are of the sash and case type. There is a cornice above the second floor, an eaves cornice, and a blocking course along Cochrane Street, with a pedimented gable facing South Frederick Street. The roof is covered with slate.
