Description

Wester Craigduckie Farmhouse is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay farmhouse that features a later rear wing. The front is constructed of sandstone blocks, while the other sides are rendered. There is a base course along the principal elevation, and the quoins are highlighted with ashlar margins.

The south elevation is symmetrical, with a central door that has a modern glazed porch, flanked by a single window in each of the outer bays. Above, there are three first-floor windows centered over the ground floor openings.

On the west elevation, there is a ground floor window to the left and both ground floor and first floor windows in the rear wing.

The north elevation has an advanced piended porch at the corner, featuring a bipartite window with a stone mullion and a door on the right return. To the right, there is a glazed porch, and a small first-floor window is located above the left porch. A ground floor window is present in the gable wall of the rear wing.

The east elevation includes a ground floor window in the rear wing and a single-storey brick extension to the left, which is not part of the statutory list.

The farmhouse predominantly features 12-pane timber sash and case windows with horns. There are two roof lights on both the front and the rear wing. The roof is pitched and covered with slate, featuring raised flat wallheads and moulded skewputts. There are three coped gable end stacks, and the rear wing has a piended roof at the junction with the main house. The porches also have slated roofs.

The interior was not seen in 2000.

Additionally, there are gatepiers and a wall consisting of a pair of plain stone coped pillars with pyramidal coping stones to the west of the house, which are attached to low stone rubble walls.
