Description

56 South Street in St Andrews is a building that was rebuilt in the late 18th century. It is four stories high and features two windows, constructed from droved ashlar stone and topped with a slate roof. The first and second floors have tripartite windows, and there is a Roman Doric pilastered double doorpiece. The mutual lang rig wall with the adjacent building at number 58 has been removed, resulting in a shortened rig at the southern end.
