Description
This is a small, probably 18th-century dovecot, altered at a later date. It has a rectangular plan and is two stories high, featuring a lectern design. The dovecot is constructed of rubble and has a slated roof. A pedimented stone dormer is centrally positioned on the south side and contains two pigeonholes.
The ground floor of the dovecot has been converted into a potting shed. The first floor contains 220 wooden nesting boxes, accessible via the dormer.
This dovecot is associated with Glassmount House, and the two are linked in the wider landscape, though the house, conservatory, sundial, and steading are listed separately. Further information can be found in Niven Robertson's book, Old Dovecotes, page 199.
