Description
The stables at Craigfoodie date from the early 19th century and have undergone some alterations. The building is mainly an L-shaped block, featuring a rectangular section that projects into the courtyard, along with a low octagonal horsemill to the north. It is a single-storey structure with lofts. The walls are constructed from whin and sandstone rubble, accented with droved ashlar dressings. On the short east wall of the L-plan block, there are two round-headed openings, one of which is blocked and has a water trough in front of it. The openings leading to the courtyard consist of segmental-headed carriage arches and square-headed doors and windows, along with a single piend-roofed and slated loft opening. The roofs are primarily covered with pantiles, although some sections feature slate easing courses.
