Description
Pair of linked, crowstepped, steeply gabled burial vaults with early 19th century facades (probably 1821 when medieval church on this site demolished) incorporating earlier fabric. Coursed whinstone with ashlar dressings, crowsteps, beak skewputts and base course. Deeply chamfered margins at openings.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: each gable with boarded door at centre, blocked pointed arch lights in flanking bays and at gablehead, further light in roofless link. Stone door case and lintel forming link section to rear.
17th century Rothes family vault to E: Aisle of medieval church. Random whinstone rubble, graded grey slates, blinded opening with relieving arch in gable end. Memorial stone to Norman Evelyn Leslie died 1927, set into E elevation.
19th century Douglas family vault to W: Squared and snecked whinstone, graded grey slates.
