Description
Abercraig, located at 2 West Road in Newport-On-Tay, is a dower house built in 1840 for Tayfield. The building is single-storey at the front facing the road and two-storey at the rear overlooking the river. It is constructed from whinstone ashlar with sandstone dressings. The façade features two windows and a semi-circular porch supported by Roman Doric columns, which includes a segmental fanlight. There is an asymmetrical canted bay on the river side. The roof is low and slated with a piend design, broad eaves, and octagonal shafted chimneys. The interior is simple, with hooded lintels.
