Description
The farmsteading at Kinnaird mainly dates to the early 19th century and consists of four ranges arranged to form a square. The south range is earlier, bearing a lintel dated 1787 at the west end of its north side, though its original location may have been elsewhere. The east end of this south range is single-storey and has an attic, with a gable roof, and was likely originally domestic. The western part of the south range is piended and single-storey, with altered window openings. The west range is a symmetrical two-storey, piended block, with single-storey, piended wings extending north and south. The walls are of coursed rubble construction with droved dressings. The east front of the west range features five cart sheds with segmental arches and loft openings above. The north range is single-storey and of slated rubble construction, with a modern brick extension to the west; several openings have been blocked or altered. The east range comprises a single-storey and attic block with a pavilion roof, slated, attached to a lower single-storey section with an asbestos roof. Parts of the piended wings of the west range were demolished in 1979.
