Lodge, The Binn, Burntisland

The Lodge at The Binn in Burntisland, dated 1866, features a single-storey gabled design with a modern extension at the rear. It is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone with dressed margins and stop-chamfered arrises.

The south elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a projecting gable with a ball finial located to the right of center. This gable includes a studded timber door adorned with decorative cast-iron hinges and a plate glass fanlight. To the right, there is a larger projecting gable with a window.

On the east elevation, there is a large gable to the right that contains two windows, along with a flat-roofed extension on the outer right side. The west elevation features a gable end with a window at its center.

The windows are timber sash and case with a 4-pane glazing pattern and plate glass glazing. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and the building has coped ashlar stacks with ashlar coped skews, moulded skewputts, and stone finials. Additionally, there are cast-iron downpipes that include dated decorative rainwater hoppers and fixings.

The property is enclosed by a boundary wall made of saddleback coped rubble, which includes three square gatepiers topped with truncated pyramidal caps. Decorative cast-iron gates are provided for both carriage and pedestrian access.
