Description
Earlier 19th century. 2-storey and attic; semi-detached; tenement block with classical pilastered doorcase to principal (S) elevation. Coursed droved sandstone principal elevation; coursed sandstone rubble elsewhere; polished ashlar dressings. Droved base course and eaves course.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: central pilastered entrance with corniced entablature; plain timber door with rectangular fanlight. Flanking windows to each floor and one above; those to attic are later boxed dormers.
N ELEVATION: central semicircular-plan stairtower with catslide roof; central stairwindow; small opening below to right; entrance with panelled timber door and 5-pane rectangular fanlight to right return. Flanking windows set back to ground and 1st floors; small opening to left of outer right1st floor window. Low single storey outhouse wing of various dates projects forward to left; oldest intact section to N; window to right return.
W ELEVATION: blank gable end.
Mainly 12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roofs; that to N section of outhouse wing is piended. Corniced end stacks to either side (E and W) of main block; tall coped stack to N section of outhouse wing; mainly octagonal cans.
INTERIOR: not inspected (1998).
OUTHOUSE TO NW: single-storey lean-to sandstone rubble outhouse with droved sandstone dressings to NW. 2 entrances with boarded timber doors to principal (E) elevation.
