Description

Railway Tunnel Number 71A, built in 1846, is located on the Kinghorn to Burntisland route. The entrance is made of ashlar stone, with flat-coped rubble walls leading up to it. The tunnel features a single segmental arch, flanked by pilasters and elongated voussoirs. Above the arch, there is a cornice and a deep blocking course, which is situated below a cavetto cornice and a block pediment.
