Description
This mid-19th century cottage at 76 Broad Street in Denny is a symmetrical single storey and attic structure with three bays. It features stugged ashlar stonework with ashlar margins, highlighted by a central advanced gabled bay. The entrance is a depressed-arched design with a hoodmould, located in a projecting porch supported by tall, engaged, octagonal piers that have cornices and pinnacles, all connected by a bracketed cornice and a low parapet.
The outer bays contain sash windows with cills and hood-moulds, while a moulded eaves cornice runs along the roofline. There are two steeply gabled dormers, each with corbelled cills and depressed-arched, hood-moulded, sash windows. The cottage has corniced end stacks and a slate roof. To the right, a low wing is recessed and features a gable topped with a ball finial. The rear elevation includes a tall round-headed stair window with astragals.
