Description

The sundial at Dunglass House is possibly from the 17th century and is located to the east of the Collegiate Church on a mound. It is made of weathered ashlar stone. The sundial features a square, moulded base that supports a shaft made up of four piers, each with a moulded base and neck. Above the shaft is a deeply overhanging cornice or table, with a cubical dial at the center. Additionally, there is a waisted, moulded block set on the dial, which was added later and comes from a series of stones that were previously scattered in the area.
