Description

New Bridge in Dunglass was designed by George Burn in 1797. It features a single span of approximately 83 feet with a segmental arch. The bridge is constructed from squared and coursed stone, with bull-faced dressings on the arch ring and parapet. It spans the Dunglass dene. The sizeable voussoirs are currently in a dilapidated state. Below the crenellated parapet, there is a dentilled string course, which is interrupted at intervals by coped piers. To the south, there is a quadrant leading to Dunglass East Lodge. The bridge is adorned with simple iron railings set within the crenellations.
