Description
92-93 High Street in Haddington is a late 18th century, three-storey building with a rendered exterior and a slated roof. The ground floor features a shop, while the first and second floors have a three-window arrangement with margins. The building is accented by raised quoins at the ends and a main cornice.
Inside, there is a well-preserved mid to late 19th century chemist's shop interior, complete with bespoke hardwood and curved glazed cabinets that have glass knobs and marble surfaces. The upper floors maintain original features such as the staircase, chimneypieces, plain dado panelling, and raised and fielded six-panel doors with shutters. The floor plans on all levels include symmetrically placed bed recesses.
